An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until April 4, 2021
This year the season of Lent begins on February 17 (Ash Wednesday) and ends on April 4 (Easter Sunday). Unity students and families are once again invited to participate in our Lenten tradition of Bible reading and prayer – Prep 41
In preparation for Easter, each weekday during Lent we will provide Bible passages to look up and read (approximately four minutes of reading time). After reading the passage we encourage all who participate to reflect on the passage in prayer for approximately one minute. Our hope is for everyone to spend five minutes, five days a week in preparation for Easter Sunday.
This year we are focusing our reading on the Gospel of Mark and from the book of Proverbs. Mark’s Gospel gives readers a firsthand account of Jesus’ ministry through his ascension into heaven. Complimenting each daily reading from Mark is a single Proverb. These verses of wisdom literature provide clear insight for Christ-followers toward a Spirit-filled life.
During this Lenten season, we are reminded perhaps more than ever of our need for a Savior in a world impacted so deeply by sin. Our hope is a daily reading of Jesus’ ministry, death, resurrection, as well as a verse of wisdom that will lift your spirit and allow you to experience the presence and peace of the Holy Spirit while anticipating the celebration of Christ’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
