Boys Soccer Season comes to an end On a cold, windy, rainy October fall night at the Catholic Central Cougar Athletic Complex, the undefeated Unity boys soccer team’s season came to an end, at the hands of South Christian. After playing to a scoreless 0-0 first half, the wind and rain picked up and so did the intensity. South Christian got on the board first with a goal on a ball the Saders could not clear out of their defensive end. Unity would tie up the game a few minutes later on a South Christian miscue for an own goal. Both teams would trade chances for the next 20 minutes battling each other and the weather. In a game that seemed destined for overtime, the Sailors would get the tally late in the match, that would prove pivotal and knock Unity out of the post season. The loss was the first of the season for Unity, a team that hadn’t lost or given up more than 1 goal in a game all season long. Unity finishes the season with a 17-1-5 record.
