Welcome to the campus of Unity Christian High School. Sitting on 110 acres in Hudsonville, it includes our school and athletic complex. The school, built in 2015, is 147,000 square feet. It houses 29 classrooms with specific classrooms for band & orchestra, choir, art, industrial arts, health & PE, consumer sciences, and educational support. It includes a 30,000 square foot multipurpose gymnasium with a track.
The commons is a multipurpose space located on the main floor. It is the centerpiece of the school connecting all of the classroom wings, the band/orchestra/choir wing, offices, and the gymnasium. The commons features the Unity Food Court and seating for students during break and lunch. It is also able to serve as a meeting space, as well as hosting events such as class reunions.
In the center of the school is a 30,000 square foot gymnasium and multipurpose center. This area features a main basketball court with seating for 1,800. It also features 3 practice courts that run parallel to each other, baseball and softball batting cages, and a stage. There is a drop down curtain that separates the main basketball court from the stage. The stage is used for daily chapel. The gymnasium is home to the Unity basketball, volleyball, and wrestling teams.
The Carpenter’s Room is our classroom for Industrial Arts. The room has a woodworking and metals section. The woodworking side features table saws, planer, joiner, miter saws, band saws, wood lathes, drill presses, and belt sanders. On the metals side there are arc welders, mig & tig welders, metal band saws, grinders, and a plasma cutter.
On the east end of the building are the band/orchestra and choir rooms. The band/orchestra room is fitted with instrument storage and a music library. It also features several smaller rooms for practice tests and groups. The choir room, also fitted with a music library, has a large storage area for musical sets and costumes. Each room has large self tinting windows that allow for natural sunlight, and are fitted with large autistic paneling for sound.
The Unity Athletic Complex was completed back in 2003 as Phase 1 of the Building Unity Project. The complex serves as the home for the Unity soccer, softball, tennis, football, baseball, track & field, and cross country teams.
The weight room & P.E. Lab is located on the 2nd floor above the locker rooms with a view over the campus. Included in the area is an indoor track that lines the inside of the multipurpose gym and runs through the weight room.
Unity’s Computer-Aided Design (CAD) lab is located in the science wing. The room features two 3-D printers.
