2016-17 Chapel Theme: The Journey

May: Are We There Yet?

Thinking of the Christian life as a journey through the world offers us a helpful way of visualizing the life of faith.  It reminds us that we are going somewhere and we have a destination.  It encourages us to think ahead and look forward with anticipation to the joy of arrival.  One day we will finally be with God and see Him face to face.

Revelation 22:12-13 “Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

Distinctive Practices

Coming together for chapel is one of Unity’s distinctive practices. While Christ is the focus of our curricula, it is important to come together and share our praise and worship as a body of believers.

God tells us to gather as a corporate body of believers. We have such a privilege and opportunity to freely gather with other believers worshiping the one and only true God.

God created each one of us; each student, each teacher, & each staff member. And what God creates is loved and valued. Each month in chapel we look at what it means to be created in God’s image. We look to our perfect example of Christ to mold our thoughts and actions.

Chapel meets daily in the Gym Monday through Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to 9:00.

  • A time for students, faculty, and staff to gather as a corporate body, pausing in the busyness of our day to focus our attention on God.
  • A time for all to grow spiritually in a deeper relationship with God.
  • A time for students to become actively involved in leading others in devotional times with God
